  • Growing through the Arts

At St. Mary’s we provide the visual and performing arts, giving students the fullest experience of being human, while preparing them for college and career. Through the arts, students learn critical thinking, effective communication, broad-based collaboration, and creative problem solving. They grow in self-confidence and self-direction, create meaning, and engage other cultures through learning. The arts are essential to a complete and competitive education. Whether visual or performing, arts come from the heart and, likewise, speaks to the heart; but this asks something of the witness, too, a kind of emotional and spiritual sensitivity with which to receive the generous gift of the artist.

  • Preschool Plus Program

After surveying our community, it was evident there was much interest in having an all day preschool program. We have moved classrooms, painted, purchased new equipment, and hired two excellent teachers.

St. Mary School offers a program beyond the norm for Preschool children who are enrolled in morning or afternoon classes. Our Preschool Plus program will allow students in pre 3, pre 4, and pre k to remain in school all day.

Welcome to St. Mary School!

Dear Parents:

Welcome back to St. Mary Elementary and Jr. High. The coronavirus pandemic has brought change and challenges, and as a result this school year will not look like any year in the past. Nevertheless, we are planning for the same commitment to our families, of delivering the best Catholic education to your child that is possible during this time. We have safety and health plans in place with the physical setting. We know that it is not possible to expect teaching and learning to take place during a crisis without attending to emotions. Our faculty and staff will be checking in with kids on their social and emotional well-being making sure they feel safe and secure.

Please keep us in your prayers as we move forward.

With faith in the Lord,
Jean Spohn, Principal

Welcome! Traci Mueller

Welcome! Traci Mueller

Mrs. Traci Mueller is our new Pre School Plus Morning Teacher.  Traci retired a year ago from a career of over 20 years working in the child abuse field.  She was the Executive Director at Shining Star Children's Advocacy Center, here in Dixon, when it opened in 2002.  After a couple years in that role she realized her passion was to work directly with the children, so she spent the next 15 years as a forensic interviewer, interviewing over 1500 children as part of investigations of child sexual and physical  abuse and witnessing violence. Traci and her husband Chris have four daughters, their youngest graduated from St. Mary's this past year and will be a freshman at Newman High School.  Traci also has two grandchildren and loves her role as Nana!  Although Traci has been a part of the St. Mary's school family for many years as a parent and a volunteer in the library. She is very excited to be on staff and get to love on the littlest of our children!
